As I came down to Haiti, I, along with the rest of the team came thinking of how we would be helping Haiti. Upon arrival, I realized how much the people of Haiti would be helping me. The first day I arrived, the Lord put Ephesians 4:1-8 on my heart. It talks about being humble, gentle and each of us having our gifts. The people of Haiti have taught all of us so much about love for God, about unity and dignity. We came thinking of ourselves as a team, yet realized that the team consisted of both ourselves, and the Haitians that we were working with. All of us are working as one body, one mind, one soul, for God. As I leave here in a couple of days, to go home and see my family and loved ones I missed so much, I also take, in my heart, my new found family, my Haitian brothers and sisters I’ve come to love so much. I pray that God will make a way for me to return someday soon, so that I may continue to learn, and be a part of my new family.
