After 7 long months of waiting and praying, we finally got the church building out of customs. To see the truck pull into the church property was an exciting moment for everyone, to say the least. Dancing, jumping and shouts of joy took place as each of us were filled with anticipation as we watched the driver slowly reverse the container onto the property. The expression on Pastor Guy and Pastor Rosinel’s face was one of extreme joy – priceless!
Shortly after receiving the container, a team arrived from Beaverton. They were motivated and determined to begin putting the building together. The Beaverton group along with some of the Haitians who work on the church property, worked together on building the frame of the building. After a few long, hot days of working under the beaming Haitian sun, the frame of the building was completed.
The next step is to assemble the rest of the building – walls, roof, windows, doors. But this will take a little more expertise, we needed a crew who was knowledgeable in steel construction so we emailed past teams and asked them to help us spread the word…
God answered our prayers – In just a few days we will have a team who is trained and skilled in the construction of steel buildings. Praise the Lord!
It won’t be much longer until the congregation is praying and worshipping under the roof of their new church building!
